Stereotype or aesthetics?
To me, the aesthetics of the cultural landscape at Marchfeld was impressive.
A more or less plain area, structured in fields, with cultivated and planted land.
Due to the rising infrastructure, settlement and urban sprawl, the natural landscape of Marchfeld is endangered.
The question is:
Should we protect and conserve this landscape? Would it be possible?
After interviewing local farmers and an intense photographic research on Marchfeld, the film “The last Marchfeld” was produced. It shows a striking, ironic, stereotypical vision on what it could be in the future.
A field as a cultural monument?
What happens if its surroundings develop further?
Does that danger the fields value?
Will Marchfeld evolve into an urban area if nobody takes action?
